Only a handful of galleries are owned by African Americans and Samuel’s Gallery has set the standard for galleries showcasing African American art. Throughout the years, Samuel’s Gallery has exhibited the works of such artists as Jonathan Eubanks, Brenda Joysmith, Kathleen Wilson, Irmagean, Joseph Holston, Varnette Honeywood, Claude Clark, John Biggers, Ernie Barnes, Rosalind McGary, William Tolliver, Chuck Stewart, Charles Bibbs, and Cynthia Saint James, to name just a few.

About Samuel
The artists whose work is shown in the gallery are exclusively African Americans. I noticed 20 years ago that African American artists had very few venues in which to exhibit and I made a commitment to open a gallery that was dedicated to presenting their art in the best possible setting.
